My first impression, when I saw it and put it on the XPR, was that this thing is going to be a pain to control. But one incident completely changed my mind. I have a house that was built in the 50's and the doors and the door knobs are all from the time that the house was built. A few of the inside door knobs quit working properly so I went and got some new knobs. The standard door knobs now have different depths and diameters than the originals on my doors. I had my choice; buy all new doors and knobs or break out this Dremel MultiSaw attachment and go crazy. Man does this thing work great!!! It got around in those doors like a hot knife through melted butter. It uses blades for most standard jigsaws, so I had other blades around. This thing saved me the cost of buying all new doors for my house. I recut three dorr knob holes and the latch holes in a matter of 20 minutes and installed the new knobs in 10 more. If you don't have this for your XPR, get it!! 36 of 39 people found the following review helpful. For 400 XPR, 4000, and 8200 Rotary Tool ONLY By C. MacPhail Nothing in the Amazon listing warned me of this. The box and front of the owner manual say "For use with Dremel 400 Series XPR." Page 5 of the manual says "For use with Dremel 400 Series XPR Rotary tool only." (Subsequent models 4000 and 8200 are also compatible.) Reviewer "Osama I. J. Deir" says it works with his Dremel 395 series tool, and I was able to attach and run it with mine. But 2 gray plastic tabs at the saw's connection point prevent it from seating well. Ironically, you could use your Dremel to grind off the tabs and get a better connection to your non-XPR Dremel tool. But I am returning my MultiSaw because Dremel is telling me in multiple ways that it's not a good idea. Maybe it's overload issue...who knows? Nice that Amazon returns are super easy. 16 of 16 people found the following review helpful. Don't expect too much. By AWBoater I was very disappointed in this tool. I bought it to cut out a 12" x 6" panel in 1/4" thick fiberglass with 1/16" aluminum on one surface. Since it used standard jig saw blades, I figured it would be up to the task. The primary reason I used this item rather than a jig saw is that I had a restricted area where the jig saw would not fit. It made it about half way through the job when it quit working. When I disassembled it, I found it had nylon (or perhaps simply plastic) gears, which were rounded smooth. The manual does caution against running the tool too fast, and I did heed that, but its supposed to be able to cut through 1 1/2" material, so I figured it should have worked for my application. But at any rate, for almost $30, it should have metal gears. Unless you are cutting thin or soft material, get something heftier, like a pneumatic saw. See all 22 customer reviews...

Bench Dog 40-011 Feather-Loc Double Featherboard for Table Saws & Router Tables

The FL200 is a pair of Feather-Loc featherboards without the slot adapter. Buy this if you are using the featherboards on equipment with a 1/4 hex t-track.

Amazon Sales Rank: #3458 in Home Improvement Brand: Bench Dog Model: 40-011 Dimensions: 1.00 pounds Two multipurpose featherboards for holding the stock against the guide fence Easy set-up feature; reduces kickback, binding, lifting, and bent blades High tech polymer ensures it will maintain its original shape Advanced design means no marring to your workpiece Designed for 1/4" T-tracks only. Requires Benchdog 10-012 miter slot adapter for miter slots on routers, shapers, band saws, and table saws.

A featherboard is undoubtedly the most underrated router-table accessory of all time. When properly installed, its flexible fingers keep the workpiece pressed tightly against the router tabletop or router fence throughout the routing operation. The result is a dramatic increase in the accuracy, quality and safety of the cuts. Now many woodworkers make their own featherboards from scrap lumber, but here’s a better, safer option: the Bench Dog 40-011 Feather-Loc Double Featherboard. This popular router-table accessory consists of not one, but two industrial-quality featherboards. The featherboards are made from a high-tech polymer and each one has 13 angled fingers that apply steady pressure that consistently produces cleaner cuts with less chance of kickback, chattering or lifting. The featherboards slide into miter-gauge slots in the router table or fence, and are locked in place by tightening a pair of knobs. Note that Feather-Loc Featherboards can also be used on a table saw, shaper, bandsaw or any other woodworking machine with a miter gauge slot. -- Joseph Truini Feather-Loc is essential for holding your stock firmly against your tool's guide fence and tabletop. Use one on the table saw to keep long stock against the rip fence. On router tables and shapers, use one before and after the cutter. Attach Feather-Locs to both the fence and the tabletop when routing long and thin stock on the router table. Not only will Feather-Loc protect your hands, it also helps prevent kickback, binding, and bent blades. Its durable polymer retains its flex memory, ensuring a steady feed rate. Feather-Loc's rounded feather tips will not mar your workpiece. The exclusive built-in setup feather makes setting the tension fast, easy, and repeatable. Next time you're machining tall, thin, or narrow stock, think Feather-Loc. Safer cuts. Better cuts. Every time. See below for which model suits your requirements.

Most helpful customer reviews 72 of 80 people found the following review helpful. Poor design and construction By Darryl Ramm I purchased several of these. Initially they looked good, but in use they are annoying and end up breaking. Most other commercially available featherboards are better designed, better built and cost less! I am surprised other reviewers rate these so high, I suspect the ratings are given before much use. 1. The black plastic knobs that you use to tighten the featherboard in place capture onto a nut head. The largest problem with these featherboards is that it is easy to strip the black plastic knobs when they are tightened, allowing the plastic knob to turn freely on the captive bolt. 2. A better design would ensure a more positive capture into the track slot by having both black knobs works to lock the split aluminum bar into the track slot, in this design only one of the knobs does this. Which BTW is the one that strips as above, since you have to tighten it enough to stop the featherboard sliding in the track. 3. The black plastic knobs are small and feel cheap, other commercial featherboards have larger knobs that are easier to tighten. 4. Also after using them for a while you've start to hate the non-parallel bolt slots that the featherboard slides around on. Most other commercial featherboards have parallel slots and these are easier to adjust. 27 of 29 people found the following review helpful. Came without the track bars By Dave P Maybe I didn't review it closely enough, but this product shipped without the bars to allow it to track in my table saw. Should have been more clearly evident. 17 of 17 people found the following review helpful. Usefull but awkward to use By E. Weber I have been using these featherboards for a little while now both on my router table and on my table saw fence. They do there job but I find it awkward and time consuming to set them up because of the non parallel slots. See all 28 customer reviews...

Rumbinas The Freud edge banding system occupies a unique niche between the household iron and multi-thousand dollar (aka "real production") edgers. So far as I can tell, it's the only option for semi-professional production of heat-set edge banding.I find it a highly compromised tool. As the old National Geographics used to say, it's in a land of problems and promises. Conceptually, it's a darn good idea. The execution could be a whole lot better.Let's look at edge banding for a minute. It's not much thicker than a business card (exclusive of adhesive)and only fractionally wider than the wood it is applied to. It takes a fair amount of heat to soften the glue. The guide system on a bander needs to hold material flat, square and unbowed, although everything that is being done previously almost guarantees the opposite. The EB100 sometimes does the trick. There's only so much precision one can expect from stamped steel guides. When the machine works, it's a lot faster than the household iron. When it doesn't, it's hard to resist the temptation to throw the sucker out the window. Although one can remove improperly applied edging, it takes more effort than to apply it by hand in the first place.Freud should improve the guide system and the table on the EB100 to make it a truly useful machine. Machined, precision guides would are necessary for this operation. And they shoud re-think using heat-set banding on a machine table that is subject to high temperatures. After 20 minutes of operation, the front edge of the table peels up. This doesn't impair function, it just looks like hell.I know woodworkers that get excellent results from this system. Despite significant experience with precision machinery, I can't duplicate their results. Maybe if I were more skilled, I could. I am uncomfortable with a machine that makes me guess continually. 10 of 10 people found the following review helpful. great buy! Just be patient. 100x better then an iron!! By B. HOLM If you do any kind of pre glued edgebanding with an iron and you dont want a huge machine or just cant afford one this is great. At just under $300 this paid for it self 10 times over in my first job. Yes it was tough to get it figured out lining it up perfect so your tape does not run off the edge of your panel, but once you get it its a snap. Do not rely on the rubber feet to keep it in place I press hard to make sure the tape is on there so I had to drill some hole just behind the fence and screw it down to the work bench. Also the rubber/polyurethane wheel with the skate board wheel bearings on it seems to be a little cheaply made. the bearing on one side is not perfectly in the center. maybe 1/32" off but causes the tape to run up the wheel instead of strait. so I took it off and flipped it upsidown. works great. I also set the machine back on my work bench and extended the table so that i could band wider panels. I do think its still faster to edgeband 24" x 96" panels with the iron. just to big for this machine. Oh and one more thing, when I first started using it I noticed that the tape did not stick really really good every now and then so just to make sure after every panel I pull it off the machine and roll it with the same roller I use with the iron ( takes only 2 seconds but well worth the time for insurance.) And if I were you, if you dont already, get a laminate trimer to flush trim the tape. dont mess with the knifes you slide on there. I use the Bosch Colt and love it. I use a 1/16 or 1/8" roundover bit and set it so that the radius just barely touches the top of the tape. Gives it a flush trim and a slightly eased edge the just hit it with some 320 sand paper and your done. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Leaves a little to be desired. Most helpful customer reviews 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. The Rockler Shark Pro... By Shane The Rockler Shark Pro made by Nextwave and sold by Rockler is the next great thing in home manufacturing. Given a pretty high sticker price it is very important for a machine like this to be capable of producing products not only in mass production but in high quality as well and this machine does not disappoint. After ordering or picking up at a local Rockler outlet the customer will receive two large packages, one containing the gantry and the other containing the deck. The gantry box will contain the complete and assembled gantry packed within shrink wrap and a lot of packing peanuts. The deck box will contain the fully assembled deck wrapped in sheets of foam. Included in one of the boxes will be a small white box containing the control box. This control box is the heart of the machine and includes the emergency shut off switch, the power cable, the control to motor cables, and a USB 2.0 cable. After removing the deck from the box and placing it on a level surface you will need to place the gantry over the deck and use the included bolts to fasten the gantry to the deck. After this is done plug the cables from the motors to the control box and plug the control box power supply into 110V outlet. After plugging the unit in you may hear a very slight electronic whine form the servo's, this is normal. Take the USB cable and plug it into your laptop or PC. Read the manual and follow the install instructions needed to install the control program from the website stated. After the unit is ready you will need to install the VCarve program and 3DCut programs, this is done by installing the provided CD's. With all programs installed and the unit ready you will need to create a file within VCarve or 3DCut and save the toolpaths as a file to transfer to the control program. Much can be learned from Rockler Shark CNC forums and I advise you watch the included tutorials and youtube video links(see included links in the comments section). This machine has been a great addition to my upstart business and has expanded my abilities. I in no way regret the purchase and have been successful enough in its use to have made enough money to pay it off in short time. The only problem I have with the unit is that it only comes with two material hold down clamps and Rockler's website does not provide much in the way of CNC bits. I have found many bits on EBay including 1/8 bits that require a new smaller collet that is not provided with the palm router which is sold separately from the machine. ALL FEEDBACK IS APPRECIATED. THANKS AND GOOD MACHINING. See all 1 customer reviews...

Fragile parts By VanMan The 3 star rating is not meant to reflect the usefulness of the product or the accuracy of the work one can perform with it. It is a reflection of the robustness of some key components. The stand is very sturdy as is the laminate coated table top and the actual aluminium fence. There are some weak areas. The phenolic insert accepts either of 2 reducing rings. These rings are held in place by screws which are threaded into very small, very fragile threaded holes in the phenolic insert. It is extremely easy to strip the threads in the phenolic insert by over-tightening. There is no positive "stop" when the screws are in far enough. Exercise extreme care when installing the reducing rings. More disappointingly, the aluminium assembly which attaches the fence to the levered glide (and the glide itself) which attaches to the guide on the side of the table are extremely fragile. The assembly is held to the levered glide by 4 machine screws with brass washers. I stripped the threads in the aluminium parts tightening one of those screws, using a hand screwdriver gripped by my fingers only (i.e. I did not grab the screwdriver with a "fist grip"). I'm a lawyer and I am not noted for my death grip. There are 2 nylon screws which take the slop out of the levered glide. When I assembled my table one went in perfectly while the other cross-threaded as it entered the second piece of metal. This is not the first tool I have had to assemble from a myriad of parts. It is, however, one of the most fragile. The fence is billed as being similar to a table saw fence. In my view, that is a bit of marketing hyperbole. The fence does have a locking lever at one end like a table saw fence. Engaging the lever does not, however, lock the fence perpendicular to the side of the table. There is a tall twist knob at the opposite end of the fence that you tighten after aligning the fence properly. It certainly isn't a bad system, just not as effective as a table saw fence. 51 of 53 people found the following review helpful. Excellent Router Table for the money! By D. Vo If you are a serious woodworker, this is by far THE best router table to buy. I bought the complete table, fence, stand, casters & micro-adjuster. Every little piece of hardware was accounted for and very neatly packaged. The reliability and accuracy of the fence make it very easy to use. And if you don't want to drill the insert yourself, for 3o bucks, Kreg will drill it for you, shipping included. The assembly instructions were written in simple, easy-to-understand English and not like the 'Chinglish' from other manufacturers who outsourced their products. This router table examplifies American ingenuity & workmanship. It's definitely a 5-star rating. 24 of 24 people found the following review helpful. Kreg Router table By David Conaway Sweet table! First, there are two complete collets (1/2 and 1/4") included, not a 1/2 and an insert. Second, I have cussed other routers with stuck bits. The collets have a snap ring around the collet just above the locknut. This allows the collet to be pulled out of the spindle by the nut. Very cool - no more anxiety attacks switching bits. Secondly, the spindle has a fixed hex nut just below the collet to provide the 'spindle lock' with a wrench. This double-nut mechanism is far superior to any spindle lock schemes on other routers. The depth adjustment and associated lock is very accurate and easy to use. Power switch has a rubber dust cover. My only gripe is the lack of an effective soft start. Since I use this as a hand router, I have one hand on the handle and another on the switch. I cannot hold this powerhouse still when it switches on, bit of a dangerous situation - for me and my project. With this in mind, I think I would go with the variable speed design of this model for the extra $20 if I had to buy it again. 20 of 21 people found the following review helpful. A superior value By A Customer This is one of the best power tools I've ever owned. I am not a professional woodworker, but depend on a router for many household, furniture, and art projects (making canvas stretchers and picture frames.) I bought it a few years ago (90th anniversary edition #90690) to build a couch in oak. This one came with 1/4 and 1/2 inch collets, an edge guide, and a metal case. The finish is silver and not the putty color on other models. This is my third, and I am sure, my last router. Previously, I owned a 7/8 hp generic brand which burned out, and a 1 1/2 hp Sears unit that wouldn't keep from wandering down in the base, and also seemed to strain in all but soft wood. The solid construction and slight 'kick' when turning it on were immediately very pleasing. The power was appreciated on that first project whether making 'step' joints, cutting mortises (using the template guide that I bought seperately), or cleaning up less that smooth saw cuts. I built a simple table for it that is extemely useful, turning the router into a basic joiner or a milling machine for picture frames and mouldings. Even the depth guide on the base is accurate and stays true. The torque is much higher than that of my other routers, which makes it safer and seemingly incapable of binding. The plunge base would be nice, but I can make the plunge cuts that I require by hand. Not sure I'd do this with less than 1/2 inch bits though. This is a great tool and a superior value. 6 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Very smooth powerful machine By Everett Smiley this tool works flawlessly, easy to insert router bits and easy to adjust tool for the job at hand, the noise level seems lower than most routers I have operated, and the tool has plenty of power to plow thru the hardest of hardwoods... A Great Tool For Those Special Applications By BJO This tool has come in handy for those special circumstances that involve duplicating templates where working from an overhead position makes the operation very safe and easy to navigate. I installed a Porter Cable model 7518 motor housing into the unit which provides all the power you'll ever need. The unit works smoothly with my small compressor and once you get used to feel of the foot pedal you'll be able to control the up and down pneumatic movement of the unit with ease. You have to be careful and make sure you do not attempt to remove too much material in a single pass. I did break a couple of spiral bits before I learned my lesson. I rigged up a small section of 1.5 inch of PVC pipe that I strapped to the side of the router to serve as a dust collection intake. It works fairly well. I actually used the unit to also make a pair of custom decorative shutters by routing diagonal mortises in the stiles of the shutters, an operation that would be nearly impossible on a router table and probably require an intricate jig with a freehand router. With the overhead router, it proved to be a fairly simple milling operation. I would definitely recommend this machine as a solid performer. I am always finding more and more uses for it in my shop. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. You get what you pay for By D Roddington This thing pretty much sort of works most of the time. My main beef is the bit doesn't really center on the pin because the hole in the table is too big for the .500 pins by about .005, thus pushing it to the rear when tightened with the set screw. This is a problem if you need precision results. Also the arm itself tends to wander around, and drift even further off center. Also the depth stop is imprecise to say the least, and all the air lines cracked and had to be replaced in the first year. I have put quite alot of time into trying to fine tune this machine and make it work, however, the limitations of its engineering prevent lasting effectiveness. There's really nothing else in this price range available, so if you must, you must, but don't think you're getting a professional quality machine. See all 2 customer reviews...

You won't believe how quiet it is until you use one for yourself. I like that I can use my existing Porter Cable accessories with it. As far as fixed base routers go , I have 3 PC 690's and the Bosch D handle. Iv'e also hade few craftsman, B&D and Dewalt routers. I like this one better. Why? It just feels right. It runs so smoothly. It's easy to adjust. It is very powerful. I like the simple but effective lock mechanism. Most of all it is so quiet compared to the others. The only thing I would change is I would add an arbor lock. I don't like using two wrenches to change bits. Are you listening Makita ? That is a very minor point and doesn't tarnish my over all opinion of the tool. If I had to go with only one router this would be the one. No hesitation , no thinking about it, no contest this is the best on the market. 23 of 24 people found the following review helpful. THIS IS ONE SUPER ROUTER By JAMES MILLS I HAVE BEEN USING MY NEW MAKITA RF1101 FOR ABOUT A WEEK NOW,OH MY GOODNESS WHAT A ROUTER. I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT ON THE FIRST JOB. I BUILD HIGH END CUSTOM FURNITURE IN MY SHOP IN LUBBOCK TEXAS AND I HAVE ALL MAKES AND TYPES OF ROUTERS INCLUDING THE MAKITA 3601C WHICH IS THE LITTLE D HANDLE ROUTER THAT SO MANY WOODWORKERS HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH, ANYWAY, THIS NEW MAKITA IS POWERFUL WITH A 2 1/4 HP MOTOR I RAN IT IN GOOD HARD MESQUITE AND IT NEVER LOST SPEED NO MATTER WHAT SPEED I WAS RUNNING IT ON. I ALSO TRIED IT ON SEVERAL OTHER JOBS WITH DIFERENT WOODS AND FOUND IT TO BE JUST AS GOOD. IF I COULD OWN JUST 1 ROUTER I KNOW IT WOULD BE THIS NEW MAKITA. ALSO I WENT AND BOUGHT THE MAKITA RD1101 D HANDLE VERSION. THESE ARE ABSOLUTELY THE BEST 2 ROUTERS THAT I OWN. I OWN 9 ROUTERS BEFORE THESE 2 NEW MAKITA'S AND I FEEL THAT THE DUST WILL SETTLE ON THOSE 9. THIS IS THE FIRST ROUTER THAT I HAVE EVER FELT THIS WAY ABOUT. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR YOUR FIRST ROUTER THIS IS IT. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR ANOTHER ROUTER BUY THIS ONE. I FEEL SURE THAT YOU WILL SOON AGREE WITH ME ABOUT THESE NEW ROUTERS FROM MAKITA 15 of 15 people found the following review helpful. Makita D Handle By Bob Feeser The Makita D Handle is a super unit. It is so light and quiet, that it soon, will become your favorite hand held router. The stability of the D Handle configuration, is all the more reason. Their is no router that is a catch all, but this one is at the top of the heap for a favorite handheld. Two and one quarter horse power is great for most all applications. The smaller opening on the base lends itself to improved stability when working over smaller stock. The Makita is incredibly quiet. I thought I couldn't love a router more than I love my Fein, but this Makita has earned a side by side spot in my heart. The Fein is so light that it is excellent as a hand held, yet strong enough to be classified as an industrial production machine. Pertaining to the self locking collet, as found on the Fein, the Makita uses the twin wrenches. I am equally happy with both systems. The twin wrenches are easy to use. Centering your attention on the fact that your hands are actually stronger at squeezing two opposing arms together than your complete arms are, you understand the beauty of attaching the wrenches carefully, then squeezing to make a very secure clamping. By the way, the second resistance that is felt when removing the bit is a safety issue. If you have ever experienced a dislodging bit go flying across the room, you will know the second grip as a real asset. Some get confused, and wonder why when the nut is loose, the bit won't come out. Loosen it some more to the next tension before removing. The Makita has a flat top, so you can turn the unit on its head for easy access for bit changing. My initial interest in the Makita D Handle, is that I noticed Norm Abram using the

Not new, but useful By David Brazelton Dremel had a saw blade bit an number of years ago but withdrew it, probably because there was no blade guard. Now they have solved the blade guard problem and by angling the tool a bit have made it able to cut in the center of a board. It took a little getting used to before I got comfortable with it because the guard tends to fight you a bit until you develop the technique to open it properly as you start the cut. It is limited to 1/4" depth of cut making it specifically a modelers tool. When used for what it does best, it is great. 43 of 44 people found the following review helpful. Yes, but... By Rachel Mello I use my mini-rip saw all the time; it's absolutely essential to my art work. But I can't recommend it without a few comments. First: that safety housing around it is so bulky that you cannot really see where the blade is going to go, exactly. This is fine if you're cutting something roughly, and you don't care within an 1/8 of an inch where the blade touches your work, but otherwise it's maddening. When I first bought it I tried it for a few cuts then put it aside to return. Instead what I did was attach it into one Dremel and use my other one, with a diamond cut-off wheel inserted, and lop the whole front of that silly cage off. If you do this, be mindful of where it is sealed to keep in the lubricating oil, and leave the back face of the safety on to help you keep the blade straight up and down. Once you do this little surgery, of course, you're out of warrantee, but then, WOW! this little guy is super handy! It's a detail saw with a dream-kerf of about a millimeter. Make SURE you wear goggles, now, dust and bits are going to fly. Second: I don't know the solution to this second problem. I used my mini-saw so much, for so long, cutting through tempered hard-board that the blade got quite overheated and warped. When I finally realized I should have changed it a while ago, I found that the screw holding it in had fused to the blade and I couldn't get it off. The spindle-lock for the tool gave out before the screw moved, and I ended up bending the shaft of the saw trying. I would have returned it to Dremel, but since I had cut off the safety as I described, there was no chance. Ultimately I decided I had gotten far more than my money's worth out of the tool anyway, and bought a new one. I still use it every day. I guess I'm just going to have to be careful to change the blade sooner this time. 31 of 31 people found the following review helpful. Awesome little saw By A Customer I am amazed at the clean cut that this saw makes. I suppose it depends on the material you are cutting, but more often than not get a smooth, precise cut with no ragged edges. The saw is also remarkably easy to guide and cut a straight line. It's very well put together and I've had no negative issues with it whatsoever. See all 24 customer reviews...

Anzalone I chose this saw because it had high end features at a price that was in my range. The main features that made me choose it were the cabinet mounted trunnions, the built in mobile base, and the cast iron extension wings. First of all, this thing is built like a tank and the motor/belt already comes mounted in the cabinet which helps with assembly. Everything was packed nicely and the freight delivery was top notch. Now comes the only negative part of my experience...the assembly. Assembly was not difficult, however, the instructions are completely useless. The instructions would call for some screws or bolts that clearly were not provided and after a while I basically used whatever bolts would fit the task at hand, completely disregarding the instruction manual. Although a bit frustrating, I still assembled it in about 3 hours only needing help from another person to attach the cast iron wings. The seamless extensions are pretty cool and give the saw a great look and feel. The only issue is that with the seam concealed in the miter slot if the wings are not completely flat/level, the miter slot changes width ever so slightly causing the miter gauge to bind up. After about 30 min of adjusting the wings (instructions say they are leveled at the factory, but for me that was not the case), the whole table was perfectly flat and the miter slot was tight and smooth. The fence is good, but not excellent. It would have been nice for the front rail to be all one piece. The saw passes the nickel test and moves fairly easily with the mobile base. Cuts are smooth and accurate and its actually much quieter than I expected. Although the assembly process was needlessly frustrating, the overall value and quality of this saw is exceptional. In my opinion, whatever money Steel City saved by having a 3 year old write their instructions was worth it since that money clearly went into the quality of the parts. That is why I'm giving this saw 5 stars. 9 of 9 people found the following review helpful. Great saw for the money!!! By Adam W. Williamson I have been without a table saw for a while, and spent most of that time dreaming and researching on which saw to buy. I feel safe in saying that the major piece of woodworking equipment in a shop is the table saw, and research should be done to find the right saw for your application. This saw at this price is a good deal. The money you will save can be applied to other items to increase the efficiency of the 35990c. Some of the pros to this saw are: enclosed cabinet, cabinet mounted trunions, 4" dust port located in the bottom of the cabinet, quiet opperation, built in mobile base, and good safety equipment. After set up, I was able to spend about an hour adjusting and readjusting until I was content. An hour is not bad since I was not in any hurry. The adjustments are fairly easy, and I do not fear readjusting in the future. There is, however, one bolt for the left table extension that is hard to reach, but it is still not that bad. The table top is made from three pieces of cast iron that conceal the seams in the miter slots. I'm not sure if the seam being visible or not actually makes a difference in performance, but it does make the miter slots adjustable. To me this is a big plus. Lots of people buy incra miter guages for the ability to remove the slack in the miter slot, but this seamless feature of the 35990c allows you to adjust some of the slack with the cast iron extension. I was lucky enough to have both the seamless table and the incra v27. I quickly reached for some scrap stock and made a 90 degree corner to check with an engineer square. I was extremely happy with the results. At a price of $649.00 with no tax or shipping, I find this to be a great deal, but there are some cons to this very positive report. There were several missing bolts,

Worth a Second Look By Michael Collyer Like the other reviewer, my Trend router developed a switch problem shortly after buying it. But my experience dealing with Trend was very positive. I contacted Trend via the email address on their Web site and explained the problem. The following day I received a courteous reply with a return authorization number and assurances that the problem would be resolved. A new router was shipped to me the very same day they received my defective router. As for the router itself, I was looking for a good quality light-duty plunge router but didn't want to spend $200 for a Bosch or DeWalt router and plunge base. I purchased the Trend T4 router for half the price. My impression was favorable. The tool is solid, the plunge action is reasonably smooth, and the variable speed motor is more than powerful enough for any light-duty application. I do a lot of free hand routing and found the Trend easy to maneuver. Operation is steady throughout the RPM range. For the money, I felt the trend was a solid value. When the switch broke, naturally I was irritated but felt that because the overall quality and construction of the router is good, that the defective switch was an isolated problem. The outstanding customer service that I received from Trend went a long way in reassuring me that Trend is serious about building a quality product and keeping its customers happy. 5 of 11 people found the following review helpful. trend router T4EK By H. Wilson This router sucks. It had a broken switch out of the box(I needed it so I fixed it with a rubber band)This was supposed to be brand new. I did not have 30 minutes running time on it and it quit. I sent it to the address it listed for warranty work...guess what...they moved! Their book did not say you needed a RA number just send it to that address. Okay UPS tried to send it to a new address...guess what...they refused it. Now it's floating around in limbo and even UPS doesn't know where. I want to point out that UPS has done more than they should trying to find the repair shop...not their fault. I didn't buy this router on Amazon (I have bought other stuff and am very well satisfied with them) Bottom line BEWARE of this thing. See all 2 customer reviews...
