Caution - high tolerance, is a challenge for this router with amazon purchase I bought 1617EVSPK 2-1/4HP bosch router combo about 9 months and has logged many hours on the machine. Overall, I echo the positive comments that other users have made available again: performance, versatility, ease of use, etc. There are two areas where the unit is dropped, however. First base plate, although it ostensibly centered on the unit when doing close tolerance work (for example with a dovetail jig Leigh), you will probably have to buy a basic center and placing the lower plate. This is a pain, but it is less noticeable. A far bigger problem is that developed the router side collision meter has when used in bounce mode, so just a fraction swings from side to side when falling, even despite my careful pressure is displayed on both handles. Not a problem for many applications, such oscillation is very small, but when the tolerances are a necessity (eg, routing mortis) is difficult to achieve than to cut dozens of pin floating shroud over the weekend with a small snail upcut again, and half shrouds was 1 / 32 "-1/16" of great size, which means that now I have much more value in my dustbin. I agree with another buyer, who said that this router works very professional and can make anyone look like they know what they are doing. Even my wife who never used a router was able to use it with ease. It is very easy to switch between the bases, clean design. The cast includes keys to change the bits are a sign of a better quality router cutters and edge guide / circle is a must and very easy to use. I like functional kit that comes with everything but the edge guide, although it places the bits of the two most common shank sizes. A big plus is the depth-setting remains the same, even after switching back and forth between the bases, no need to adjust and hope that the same depth router has a sense of solid construction, cutting soft and hard woods such as butter, no vibrations and completely. Slow start is a must to prevent damage when kicking. I read complaints about the change of location, but have not really bothered me and I do not know of a better place for the gear it would not lead to other problems continue. It's not really a better place to turn and that would not interfere or dirty, or turn it off / turn on accidentally. Flat Top makes it easy bit changes and ensure that the router is not enabled for those of us who do not pull the plug (bad habit). The real wood handles provide a solid feel, instead of hollow plastic. Step, the base has easy access to the slot that the user to keep both hands on the router and to minimize errors.
